ISI Marking & BIS Certification
The ISI mark (Indian Standards Institute mark) is the product certification mark issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). It indicates that a product conforms to the relevant Indian Standard and has been independently tested and verified.
All Anusandhan Cables manufactured products carry the ISI mark, certifying compliance with the relevant Bureau of Indian Standards specifications:
- IS:694 — PVC insulated cables for working voltages up to and including 1100V (house wiring, FR, FRLS, flexible cables)
- IS:1554 — PVC insulated heavy duty electric cables (industrial armoured and unarmoured cables)
- IS:7098 — XLPE insulated PVC sheathed cables (XLPE armoured industrial cables)
Our Quality Control Process
Raw Material Testing
We start quality control at raw material intake. Copper conductors are tested for resistivity and mechanical properties. PVC and XLPE insulation compounds are verified for correct grade before production.
In-Process Checks
During manufacturing, cables are checked for conductor stranding, insulation thickness, lay length, and dimensional accuracy at regular intervals. Any batch showing deviation from specification is stopped and reviewed.
Finished Product Testing
Every finished cable drum is tested for:
- Conductor resistance per unit length
- Insulation resistance
- High voltage withstand test
- Mechanical properties — tensile strength and elongation of insulation
- Dimensional verification — conductor cross-section, insulation thickness, overall diameter
